MOURNING

How long are you supposed to mourn? This is something we have all thought about. Will something always remind us and make the wound fresh again? Is this always going to be a part of me? Is this how I am now? Forever?

Today I'm going to direct you over to Heather's Dad. He said it better than I ever could.

I don't normally read the Spohrs blog, because it makes me cry THE UGLY CRY bigtime. But I read the post he made on her blog, and I'm just astounded he even has to come to his daughter's defense on the subject of grieving her daughter. WHO SHOULD HAVE AN OPINION ON THIS?! Why is that ANYBODY's business if someone has grieved long enough or properly?! I'm just...disgusted, I guess.

I think you're right, this is always going to be a part of us (whether anyone else sees it or not). My grief counselor talked about how the grief will always be there, and when it comes, it will always feel like it does right now - the times will just come less often. I don't know if that's comforting or not?
